Doing the dishes just got a whole lot more interesting!

These super absorbent tea towels are 400gsm and have 100% cotton traditional terry towelling on the reverse, with 100% polyester microfibre velour on the printed side of the towel, and feature prints of high quality, original photos of Seaham* sea glass treasures.

Many of the sea glass pieces pictured in these prints are few and far between, so rather than use them up in one physical creation, I decided to spread the love and joy with a range of printed products so that everyone gets to enjoy the rare and the beautiful.

* World renowned amongst sea glass lovers, Seaham beach yields some of the most sought after sea glass pieces.

The Londonderry Bottleworks, which operated from the 1850s to 1921, was the largest in Britain. Producing up to 20,000 hand-blown bottles every day, they distributed their glassworks world wide. At the end of each day, waste glass was dumped into the North Sea which obviously would be frowned upon in this day and age.

However, over 100 years later, the colourful glass that can be found  beautifully smoothed and shaped by the rough North Sea  truly are gems to be treasured.
